Step softly, Fantoms, the Dark Symphony has begun once more.
After years lost to the shadows, Dark Symphony: Nocturne of Blackthorn Hall has finally been resurrected under Wicked Whispers and Fox Fire Records, marking the first-ever atmospheric haunt album crafted exclusively for haunted attractions of every shape and size, from major festivals like Halloween Horror Nights to the blood-curdling neighborhood yard haunt next door.
⚰️ From the Crypt of Eerie Effects to the Halls of Blackthorn

Originally released in 2019 under Eerie Effects, Dark Symphony began as a bold experiment in gothic horror sound design, a mix of live and synthesized instrumentation that captured the spirit of Halloween but fell victim to its creator’s inexperience. As a prop company, Eerie Effects lacked the musical infrastructure to sustain a professional soundscape release, and the album was pulled from circulation a year later.
But true darkness never dies.
Over the spring and summer, Wicked Whispers and Fox Fire Records began a full resurrection of the project, holding casting calls across the country to assemble an all-new orchestra of freelance musicians.
The result? The birth of the Nocturna, a macabre orchestra led by the eerie brilliance of Gourdy the Nightmare Pumpkin King himself. Combining classically trained instrumentalists, choir vocalists and experimental horror composers, Nocturna has brought Dark Symphony roaring back to (un)life in a way no mortal could have imagined.
🎻 A New Era of Atmospheric Horror
Dark Symphony marks the beginning of a brand-new legacy, the first in a long line of cinematic horror albums envisioned by Wicked Whispers to fill the void left by legends like Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Midnight Syndicate.
Set in the Victorian era, Dark Symphony draws its inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe, 19th-century gothic horror, and the eerie romanticism of a bygone age. The setting, Blackthorn Hall, serves as both muse and stage: a long-abandoned estate whose halls echo with ghostly requiems and half-forgotten dreams.
🕯️ From the Official Description:
Step inside the crumbling walls of Blackthorn Hall, where shadows dance in candlelight and the air is thick with the echo of forgotten requiems. Dark Symphony: Nocturne of Blackthorn Hall is a gothic, cinematic soundscape that weaves together the chilling elegance of a vampire’s court with the haunted stillness of an abandoned estate lost to time. Crafted for haunted attractions, Halloween events, and fans of atmospheric horror music, this album conjures a world of flickering chandeliers, cryptic whispers, and moonlit mausoleums. With sweeping orchestral movements, ghostly choirs, and sinister piano interludes, Dark Symphony delivers a rich auditory descent into the macabre, equal parts beauty and dread. Whether you're scoring a fog-filled ballroom or setting the tone for a graveyard path, this immersive collection is designed to haunt, seduce, and linger long after the music fades. Dare to waltz with the dead. Enter Blackthorn Hall.
🌕 What Lies Ahead
The next chapter in the Wicked Whispers / Nocturna saga is already taking shape, set for release in Fall 2026. Early whispers suggest it will transport listeners to a decaying abandoned farm, where Gourdy’s story takes center stage amid creaking barns, rusted windmills, and harvests long since turned to rot.
The harvest moon is rising, Fantoms. The dance has only just begun.
