Originally released in 2019 under Eerie Effects, Dark Symphony began as a bold experiment in gothic horror sound design, a mix of live and synthesized instrumentation that captured the spirit of Halloween but fell victim to its creator’s inexperience. As a prop company, Eerie Effects lacked the musical infrastructure to sustain a professional soundscape release, and the album was pulled from circulation a year later.

Over the spring and summer, Wicked Whispers and Fox Fire Records began a full resurrection of the project, holding casting calls across the country to assemble an all-new orchestra of freelance musicians.
The result? The birth of the Nocturna, a macabre orchestra led by the eerie brilliance of Gourdy the Nightmare Pumpkin King himself. Combining classically trained instrumentalists, choir vocalists and experimental horror composers, Nocturna has brought Dark Symphony roaring back to (un)life in a way no mortal could have imagined.
