VULPINE FAQ'S

Q: Is Vulpine Publishing a subsidiary of FLOCO Media?

Yes and no. While Vulpine Publishing is owned by FLOCO Media, it is not currently a standalone subsidiary in the legal or financial sense. Rather, it operates under a “Doing Business As” (DBA) designation according to Florida law. This means Vulpine Publishing is a registered trade name of FLOCO Media, but it has not yet been incorporated as its own independent legal entity. That said, we are actively working toward developing Vulpine Publishing into a fully self-sustaining subsidiary as the imprint continues to grow. Florida Statute Reference: §865.09 – Fictitious Name Registration Act

Q: Is Vulpine Publishing registered with the US Library of Congress?

Yes. Vulpine Publishing is officially registered with the Library of Congress as a recognized U.S. publisher. This registration allows us to assign and manage Library of Congress Control Numbers (LCCNs) for eligible titles, which is an important step in cataloging books within libraries, academic institutions, and government archives across the country. Being registered also enables us to submit titles to the Library of Congress Preassigned Control Number (PCN) Program, which ensures our books are professionally cataloged and discoverable in national bibliographic databases. This is a key part of making our authors’ works more accessible to public, school, and university libraries, as well as expanding their long-term literary footprint. In short, this registration helps legitimize and preserve the creative works of our authors in the national record—while making them easier to find, reference, and circulate throughout the literary and academic world.

Q: Where are Vulpine books sold?

At this time, Vulpine Publishing is officially registered and approved to sell books through Amazon.com, which serves as our primary distribution platform. All of our current titles are available for purchase globally through Amazon’s network, offering reliable shipping, customer support, and access to both print and Kindle editions. We are actively expanding our distribution reach and are currently in the process of applying for vendor registration with Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and several other major retailers and book distributors. This includes aligning our catalog with their metadata and inventory requirements, as well as obtaining approval through wholesale distribution channels like IngramSpark and Baker & Taylor. Our goal is to make Vulpine titles as widely accessible as possible—whether in brick-and-mortar bookstores, online marketplaces, or institutional libraries. As we complete these registrations and vendor approvals, readers will soon be able to find Vulpine books wherever they prefer to shop. Stay tuned for updates as we grow our retail partnerships and expand availability across the publishing landscape.

Q: Does Vulpine Publishing accept AI-generated content?

No. Vulpine Publishing has a strict policy against publishing AI-generated literary works or fully AI-created illustrations. To protect the integrity of our authors, illustrators, and the creative process, we actively screen all submitted manuscripts and artwork using our proprietary in-house detection system, an experimental AI bot named Mavin. Mavin is trained to identify AI-generated text with a 99% accuracy rate, and it thoroughly analyzes all submissions for signs of artificial generation, plagiarism, or content theft. If any submission is found to be AI-generated, plagiarized, or stolen, the author or artist will face immediate rejection and the original rights holder will be notified and provided with evidence of the infringement. While we do allow limited AI assistance for post-processing or cleanup of human-created illustrations (such as color balancing, background smoothing, or formatting), we do not accept fully AI-created art or image-based submissions. At Vulpine Publishing, we value authentic storytelling, original voices, and creative integrity. We take the responsibility of protecting intellectual property seriously—and we are committed to providing a safe, honest, and trustworthy space for readers and creators alike.

Q: How does the author submission process work at Vulpine Publishing?

We welcome authors to freely submit their manuscripts for consideration through our current open submission process. At this time, we are operating under a provisional submission policy, which is designed to give new and emerging writers an opportunity to share their work with us while we continue developing a more formal, industry-standard submission and review system. Please note that our team is small and primarily composed of dedicated interns and part-time staff, which allows us to review a wide range of submissions—but also means response times may be longer than those of larger, traditional publishers. It may take up to 6 months for us to fully review your manuscript and respond with a decision or next steps. As we continue to grow, we are working to refine our submission guidelines and streamline the review process to align more closely with the standards of established publishing houses. In the meantime, we deeply appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to elevate Vulpine Publishing while staying true to our mission of supporting authentic, original voices.

Q: What is the KitSafe Program at Vulpine Publishing?

The KitSafe Program is Vulpine Publishing’s internal content classification and safety protocol—developed to protect young readers and uphold parental trust. Unlike the standards used by the American Library Association (ALA), we follow our own age-based framework, tailored to reflect our values and commitment to reader safety: Children: Ages 4–12 Teens: Ages 13–17 Young Adults: Ages 18–24 Adults: Ages 25+ Every title we publish is evaluated under these classifications to ensure it is promoted and distributed only to its appropriate audience. Vulpine Publishing and FLOCO Media take child safety extremely seriously. We do not permit our adult or young adult works—which may contain mature themes—to be shared with or marketed to minors under 18. Any individual, organization, school, or library found to be knowingly distributing adult material to minors will be considered in direct violation of our policies. In such cases, Vulpine Publishing and FLOCO Media reserve the right to pursue legal action, including prosecution, against those responsible. We will not tolerate the use of our works for grooming, exploitation, or ideological indoctrination of children. Each book, novel, or graphic novel published by Vulpine includes a clear legal warning that reinforces this policy and establishes our intent to protect children from inappropriate exposure. The KitSafe Program is more than a guideline—it’s a commitment to responsible publishing, content integrity, and child safety.
